I'm finding myself reminiscing a bit about the past year, especially last summer and all of the time we spent with the Davis family. That sweet family was exactly what we needed when we needed them. They played such a huge role in Parker and I getting adjusted to this new life out here. We were both really missing our friends and family back home so the Davis family were such a blessing. Last summer we spent countless hours with them at the zoo, at local parks, and at the children's museum. I can remember 3 Fridays where we spent the entire day at the park in Raleigh Hills sitting on the blankets and chatting while the babies napped and the big boys explored. We also took the boys hiking and even took a few trips for fruit picking and one to the beach. This fall and winter Gretchen and I have been meeting (usually just with the babies) about once a week at local coffee shops, just catching up and sharing stories about our lives back home, our families, and the craziness that comes from being surrounded by males. Her friendship has meant so much to me and as sad as I am about the fact that they will be moving back to Arkansas in a few months, I am 100% grateful just to have met her and have her here while I did.
